Your itinerary
Step 1: Chapel of Our Lady of Moustoir
Le Moustoir recalls the probable, but very distant, existence of a moustier
or monastery. The construction of the chapel dates from the 15th century but it has been remodeled several times since. A pardon with procession
takes place every year in August. The chapel is also open during the contemporary art event “Art in the Chapels”.
Step 2: Saint-Étienne Chapel
The Saint-Étienne chapel is a very simple building, dating from the end of the 15th century.
century or early 1880th century. The west facade was reassembled in 1881. In XNUMX,
the enclosure surrounding it had been reduced to facilitate the passage of the road. There
municipality had demanded in compensation the restoration of the “fountain of
la République”, which is a few hundred meters further down, along the road.
Step 3: Good Food Stream
The Bonne Chère stream has its source at “Fetan Ver”, in the village of
Malguénac and flows into the Sarre, in the neighboring town of Guern. In this
stream has the largest population (49%) of mussels or pearl mussels
fresh water from the Armorican massif. This emblematic species of water quality is threatened with extinction and part of the stream is classified Natura 2
(in the town of Guern).
Step 4: Valley of the Otters
The Otter Valley lives up to its name: the European otter is indeed present there.
It frequents banks and streams with sufficient vegetation and little
frequented by men. Long threatened, the protection to which it is subject
today allows us to maintain the species.
