Électrothèque du lac de Guerlédan

The Guerlédan Lake Electrothèque (Electricity Museum) was created in 1992, under the leadership of a handful of enthusiasts determined to perpetuate the memory of what was the construction of the Guerlédan dam and the arrival of electricity in the Breton countryside.
It was in 2013 that the management of the museum was entrusted to the Pontivy community Tourist Office and the collection recognized as being of community interest. The collection, comprising nearly 1000 objects, was created thanks to donations from individuals and businesses.
For around thirty years, the Electrothèque has pursued its objectives: to safeguard, promote and transmit the memory of the industrial and historical heritage of the Guerlédan lake area.
Several tour formats are offered so that everyone can find answers to all their questions.
So, follow our passionate guides through a visit to the Electrothèque! A journey to discover life before electricity, great people, discoveries and inventions, household appliances, renewable energies...
A visit that tells you about past history, but also about today's history and tomorrow's questions.

For young people, electrical workshops, on cinema and on renewable energies are organized on Wednesdays during school holidays!

From 3 to 6 years old, the little ones have access to story time which tells the story of the electricity fairy and Guerlic, the dragon of Lake Guerlédan.

The escape game is a fun way to discover the museum. With friends or family, will you manage to solve our puzzles in time? No need for knowledge of electricity, however you will need to demonstrate good group cohesion! You will have 1 hour before it is too late!

You will find at Point I of the Electrothèque all the useful information for your stay: brochures, local travel diary, maps, hiking guides, tourist information, etc.

And why not continue your visit to the Electrothèque with a walk to the Guerlédan dam? The latter is accessible on foot via the 4 km hiking trail (round trip).
